Highland Dallas Hotel Girls Weekend

The three of us believe there’s nothing better than a girls weekend, so planning a getaway with the sole purpose of relaxation, pampering, gourmet cuisine, and a lot of fun is always on our radar. As much as we love to visit new places and explore new cities, sometimes a staycation is the best type of vacation! We’re excited to share with you our most recent staycation at The Highland Dallas Hotel!

Our recent staycation at The Highland Dallas Hotel was our idea of the ultimate girls weekend. From the second we valeted our cars at check in, we escaped instantly into vacation mode. The hotel is a one-of-a-kind urban oasis that mixes mid-century modern architecture with modern decor for a reinvented and unique style. As one of Hilton’s upscale, boutique properties within the Curio Collection, The Highland Dallas is designed to spark travelers’ curiosity and create a distinctive experience from the moment you arrive.

The recently renovated rooms were absolutely gorgeous, and we were blown away by all of the space provided by our two bedroom suite. The spacious parlor room featured a large living room and dining room that connected the two bedrooms, which was perfect for entertaining and relaxing. Apart from the impeccable decor, our favorite aspect of the room was the Diptyque products provided in each of the three bathrooms – every bubble bath was an instant spa sensation of aromas!

WHERE TO EAT

The hotel features one of the top steakhouses in Dallas, Knife, created by Chef John Tesar – former “Top Chef” contestant on Bravo and James Beard nominated chef. The upscale steakhouse features a wide menu of Texas-inspired dishes designed to satisfy any palate. We recommend starting with the Bigeye Tuna Tartare and enjoying the 44 Farms Filet as your main. Sip on the classic Curio cocktail and let the sommelier handle the rest – you will be more than pleased with the entire experience.

For those of you who prefer to dine on a more casual side, indulge in one of Knife’s decadent cheese plates in-room with the 24-hour gourmet room service – or enjoy cocktails and light bites from The Knife Bar created by Michael Mortensen and Charlie Moore on the garden patio for a little sunshine. Take a tip from us: do all three. It’s vacation, so why not?

WHAT TO DO

Although we could have been entirely satisfied spending the whole weekend relaxing in the comfort of our hotel rooms, we fully enjoyed all of the amenities the hotel offered. We started our morning with a rejuvenating yoga class at Exhale Spa for a boost of endorphins. The studio offers many classes throughout the day for all levels, so whether you’re a beginner or an expert yogi, you can find your bliss at Exhale.

Following the workout, we headed upstairs for a much-needed spa treatment after a relaxation session in the eucalyptus steam room. The Deep Flow massages were absolutely heavenly, and the facials left our skin glowing and refreshed. With massages, manicures, waxing, acupuncture and more, Exhale Spa is one of the top health and wellness destinations in Dallas, and I completely recommend it to anyone – whether you’re a hotel guest or simply in the city!

To top off our day of pampering (a staycation is a time to spoil ourselves, right?), we spent the rest of the afternoon poolside in one of the hotel cabanas. It’s safe to say we fully embraced vacation mode.

Though we stayed within the hotel property for the majority of the weekend, The Highland concierge is absolutely incredible with local Dallas recommendations and provides car services for all guests. We recommend hopping over to the nearby Highland Park Village for brunch at Mi Cocina followed by an afternoon of shopping!
