Confirmed: Marc by Marc Jacobs Is Closing

Shocking news has been confirmed this morning, that after 15 years, Marc by Marc Jacobs is officially closing within the next year. Though this does not mean the affordable price point of the brand is coming to an end, but rather Marc Jacobs will be offering both a contemporary and luxury line within one name. This combination is believed to strengthen the status of Marc Jacobs, which could be in relation to their anticipated IPO.  With Kate Spade closing Saturday, and now the end of Marc by Marc Jacobs, could this be a trend with many of our favorite lines in the future?
