When did you start your line? I started the Game Day line in 2010 and expanded to the lifestyle line in 2012.
What inspired your latest collection? Definitely Travel! I sourced a lot of my materials while I was overseas a few months ago in Turkey, Greece, Croatia and Italy.
Which is your favorite piece in your collection? Ahhh this is actually so hard! If I had to choose from the jewelry it would be my vinyl record bracelets and the Clio necklace, I wear them all the time! From the apparel collection it is definitely the ‘Wink’ tank and boxy tee I designed. They are so soft. I love it so much I probably wear it too much, my favorite look is pairing it with these cute pink or lavender pencil skirts I have with heels, and then I even workout in them!
Is your collection sold in stores? We are carried in over 15 stores across the US and just went International with stores in Canada, The Bahamas, Turks & Caicos and Trinidad. This was my first year selling wholesale, so the response we’ve been getting has been pretty amazing! We also have our online store blainebowen.com and I have exclusive Game Day jewelry lines I custom designed for Seattle Seahawks Cornerback Richard Sherman, Denver Broncos Wide Receiver Demaryius Thomas, Green Bay Packers Running Back Eddie Lacey and New York Giants Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. that are all sold on their websites.
INSIDE SCOOP
Interesting fact about you: I’m deathly allergic to peanuts, which probably helps me because I have the worst sweet tooth…so it keeps me from overdosing on candy!
Wedding plans? Ahhh wedding planning!! I haven’t done much so far, but so far we are getting married on a Ranch in Wyoming. Todd Fiscus is my wedding planner, so I’m not too worried about planning, he’s on top of everything!
Style icon: Jennifer Aniston. I love everything about her style and how everything she wears is sleek and simple, but she can have ‘WOW’ moments even in a white tee, leather jacket and jeans.
What is your favorite restaurant in Dallas? Shinsei. I come from a huge Sushi loving family, and since I was a baby we spend months out of the year in the Bahamas at our second family home, so we are spoiled with fresh fish. Its hard to find that quality in the states sometimes, and I could eat at Shinsei every night.
Favorite Dallas store: For affordable shopping its definitely Rio Ritz Boutique, then if I splurge I go to Forty Five Ten. They carry a line from my favorite local home accessories designer Jan Barboglio…her work is insane and I want to own every piece.
Cocktail of choice: Spicy Bloody Mary
Guilty pleasure: It’s either papa Johns Pizza, Breadsticks and Cinnapie or Wine and Double Chocolate Chunk Talenti Gelato.
Pets? 3 dogs and two horses.
Favorite band of the moment: I love covers by Boyce Avenue and anything sung on the show Nashville.
Favorite vacation spot: Back home on Cat Island in the Bahamas
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? Definitely Bali and the Maldives.
Recommendations for the perfect hostess gift? I love giving bottles of wine and gemstone wine stoppers.
Go-to gift for the bride-to-be? It depends on how close I am to them. For a close friend its definitely monogrammed Eberjey PJs and bedroom athletic slippers…for someone i’m not as close to I check out their registry or like to contribute something towards the honeymoon if they have anything like a ‘Honeyfund’.
