Fall in Charlotte

As you’ve probably seen on instagram and snapchat (follow us at “perennialstyle”), I haven’t stayed in the same city (much less state) for more than a week in months. I absolutely love traveling, so living out of of suitcases has been my jam lately. From Dallas to Rhode Island, New Orleans to the entire outline of Florida, and even down to Cuba – plus everything in between – the past few months have been full of exploring!

This past weekend I hopped on a plane to Charlotte to road trip up to Lynchburg, Virginia for our boarding school’s Centennial Celebration and homecoming weekend. My years at Virginia Episcopal School were my absolute favorite, so an excuse to spend a weekend on campus with all of my old friends was such a treat! However, thanks to Joaquin and heavy flooding, the celebration was cancelled as I was en route to the airport. With a turn of events, I was stuck in Charlotte for the weekend – which thanks to a handful of awesome old and new friends, I had an absolute blast!

For any of you who have never visited Charlotte, I definitely recommend it. It’s a big city feel with small-town Southern charm – a place that steals your heart after a simple weekend. With beautiful neighborhoods, quaint local restaurants, and a huge array of friendly faces, Charlotte definitely welcomes out-of-towners with open arms… which is just what you need when your travel plans take a turn!

Since Fall is my favorite season every year, getting to break out my favorite sweaters and boots was delightful (come on Dallas, time for cooler weather!). With warm-toned leaves, pumpkin patches, and the biggest scene of football pride around, Fall was in full-force and I loved it! For a casual day of shopping and pumpkin-hunting with one of my best friends, I wore my favorite distressed jeans with a cozy sweater and casual booties. To add a little NC taste to my outfit, I wore these adorable tassel earrings by Charlotte designer, Ellison James. How fun are those!?

After 8 days in Charlotte, I’m now heading to Tazewell, Virginia to watch one of our best friends tie the knot! Back on the road, but talk to you soon! xo
