City Guide: Las Vegas – The Adult Way

When I hear Las Vegas, I immediately think of bachelorette parties (I had mine here and it was a blast!), clubs, pool parties, etc. Though the party scene in Vegas is pretty wild, the city has so much more to offer than bottle-popping and dancing, such as shows, restaurants, spas, shopping, and more!

This year, my husband and I went to Vegas with the intent of relaxing!  We wanted a quick weekend getaway and flights from Dallas to Vegas are so easy, so we decided to spend our three year anniversary in Vegas!  We had an amazing weekend and loved seeing a new side of Vegas.  Here is a recap of our trip + a few spots to check out. Though you may not believe it, it IS possible to travel to Vegas the “adult way” ;)

WHERE TO STAY

Bellagio – This is where we stayed, and you must request a room overlooking the fountains – this was the highlight!  Bellagio’s location is perfect, and they have a great selection of stores and restaurants!

Mandarin Oriental –  Zen. This hotel is perfect!  Since it doesn’t have a casino, it is very quiet, peaceful, and classy.

Venetian & Palazzo – Again, great shopping, beautiful hotel, and their rooms are large!

Aria & Cosmo – These are some of the newer hotels in “city center” and they are much trendier than the ones listed above, but I would definitely give them a look!

WHAT TO DO

Spa Day!  – We spent the day at the Bellagio Spa, and it was incredible. We got a facial and a hotel massage – AMAZING!  I think most of the hotels have impressive spas, so you can’t go wrong with any choice.

Pool – No, I’m not talking about the pool parties with Avicii playing!  Most hotels have a peaceful pool area, so don’t forget your swimsuit.

Explore – When I go on vacation, I always spend the first day walking around and getting my bearings.  Vegas is fantastic for people watching, and you must explore all the hotels.

Forum Shops at Caesars – This is a beautiful mall with almost all of the high-end shops you can imagine! Hit up the casinos to win big, and then pick up this new “it bag“!

Britney Spears –  All of my friends know I am the biggest Britney fan, so of course this was on my list! You can’t go to Vegas without seeing Britney’s show! She looked amazing and the show was a blast – Even my husband enjoyed it!

Cirque de Soleil – Seeing a Cirque show is a must for visiting Vegas!  We saw Criss Angel’s Cirque show at Luxor one night.  Even though there wasn’t a lot of acrobatic/cirque moves, he is extremely entertaining and blew our minds – he is certainly a mind freak! Also, Le Reve at the Wynn isn’t technically a cirque show, but we have heard rave reviews!

Mandarin Bar – YOU CAN’T miss the bar at the Mandarin Oriental!  It’s on the 23rd floor with beautiful views of vegas!  They had a great jazz band, and it was incredibly romantic.

WHERE TO EAT

Le Cirque @ Bellagio – This is a beautiful and upscale restaurant at the Bellagio. Though we only had drinks here, this will the be the first place on our list next time we visit Vegas.  The drinks were absolutely perfect, the menu looked divine, and the ambience was ideal.

Lago @ Bellagio – YUM!  I highly suggest you request a table outdoors near the fountains!  This is an upscale Italian restaurant with small plates.  We loved the red wine risotto, meatballs, pesto pasta and burrata appetizer!

Jasmine @ Bellagio– We mixed it up and got Japanese food the night of Britney, because we didn’t want anything too heavy.  This restaurant has all Versace china, so as soon as I sat down I knew we were in a five star spot!  The service and food were top notch in our book!

Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen – This is where you get hangover food!  We had to go here for my husband, and it was HUGE portions, huge bloody mary’s, and hugely delicious!  We worked it off on all our walking, right? ;)

Mr Chow @ Caesars – Sadly we didn’t have time to go here, but this was high on our list!  It’s newer to Vegas and is getting rave reviews.  Plus, I saw Britney Spears ate there last month so now I really want to check it out! (I told you, BIG fan)

WHERE TO SHOP

Trying to narrow down the AMAZING shops would be impossible for one post, but I recommend packing light and stopping by the Rent The Runway store for a unique experience. Though I’m sure you are familiar with the website, but in Vegas, you can pop by the store, try on dresses, and pick up a couple to rent for the weekend. Packing made easy!

Though a party weekend in Vegas is always a blast (and a definite bucket list), I recommend visiting the city once again for a relaxing weekend full of entertainment and relaxation! Let me know if you plan a trip – I would love to hear your reviews! xo
