Those of you who follow us on Instagram (#perennialtravels) are well aware that I’ve been cruising through the Mediterranean with Royal Caribbean. Though I’ll be sharing more about my cruise experience to come, today I’m excited to share my first stop on The Amalfi Coast with you all. Since this particular Italian coast is constantly buzzing among my friends, flooding my Pinterest feed, and becoming the ultimate honeymoon spot for newlyweds, I was more than excited to explore.
We sailed from Rome into Naples, and from there took one of the most scenic drives I’ve ever experienced down the Amalfi Coast to arrive in Positano. Though this mini road trip was a bit treacherous along the cliffside, the views were impossible to beat with the colorful homes overlooking the sparkling blue waters. Along our drive, we stopped at a small Limoncello factory where we learned everything you could ever want to know about the beverage, plus indulged in a tasting of our own. It’s vacation, why not enjoy some morning sips?
(Note about Naples: This is mainly a port city, so if you are traveling, I recommend skipping Naples for Sorrento and Capri!)
When I arrived in Positano, I instantly understood why this is the hotspot for honeymooners. The charming streets, gorgeous views, and understated luxury just radiated romance. Although I was traveling with a handful of new girlfriends, there’s no denying love was in the air with most of the travelers outside our group. If any of you are considering a destination wedding, THIS is your spot.
One of my favorite parts of Positano was the colorful umbrellas lining the beautiful beaches. It felt as if I was living through one of Gray Malin’s photographs! Whether you’re relaxing on a beach chair looking up at the cliffside or enjoying the view from above at one of the luxury hotels (like Le Sirenuse, which we loved!), everywhere you turn is simply beautiful.
Check out some of my photographs from Positano below, and if you’ve visited before, be sure to share your experience in the comments below! Xo
