We talk about closet staples all the time, but one of our favorite pieces we recommend EVERYONE own is a classic denim jacket. What we love most about a denim jacket is that it’s the perfect layering piece for so many occasions. Toss it on over a cute dress for a casual date night look, layer it over your favorite whites for breezy beach nights, or pair it with distressed skinnies for an edgier look. A denim jacket can transform any look so easily.

Have you ever showed up to an event completely overdressed? Trust me, I HAVE. Because of this, I like to keep a denim jacket in my car to make my outfit a little more casual on these occasions. While I believe it’s always better to be overdressed than undressed, having a quick solution to tone down my outfit is always safe!

For a weeknight dinner look with my girlfriends, I layered my forever-classic Levi’s jacket over a flirty new Cooper & Ella dress. Since the dress is a bit short, pairing it with over-the-knee boots cut out a lot of “winter leg” and cut back on the need for tights!
