While I love following trends, every so often I find an item in my closet and wonder, “what was I thinking when I bought that?”. Of course it may be fun to rock a studded leather bomber or an embroidered denim jacket, there’s nothing better than having a timeless item in your closet that you know will always be in style.

For me, this item is my classic trench coat I purchased in Seaside when I was 16. It wasn’t necessarily an “exciting” item at the time, but 11 years have passed and I am still wearing it – so in my book, that’s a win! One of my favorite ways to wear a classic trench is to pair it with dark skinny jeans, a simple white blouse, and a pair of pointed pumps. However, for the Net-A-Porter breakfast at the Mansion, I wore it with my cropped leather pants, a new Cooper and Ella top, and Louboutin booties.
