Before I added Bratislava to my road trip itinerary, I honestly knew nothing about the city. Whether or not you’ve visited London or Paris, you’ve probably heard chatter about where to stay or what to do. Bratislava, Slovakia on the other hand – this was a destination that was completely foreign to me, which ultimately is why I was so excited to explore.
What I loved most about Bratislava is that it felt untapped. There was so much to explore, such a unique culture, and so many hidden gems I can’t wait to share with you guys! I’ll be sharing a city guide soon, but today I want to highlight why I recommend The Roset House Boutique Hotel as my pick for where to stay in Bratislava.
[ Note: The Tulip House Boutique Hotel changed its name to the Roset Boutique Hotel in September 2017 ]
What I love most about boutique hotels is that every hotel has a completely different vibe and story – a certain history that helps you learn more about the city from the second you check in. This remained true for my stay at The Roset Boutique Hotel, as the hotel was originally built in 1903. The original Art Nouveau style hotel exterior combines its original design with updated rooms and modern facilities. After hours in a car traveling from Budapest to Bratislava, we absolutely loved checking into our huge suite! This was by far the largest hotel room I’ve had in Europe with it’s expansive living room, spacious bedroom, built-in wardrobe, and high ceilings.
The Roset Boutique Hotel is in a prime location for walking around the city and exploring. We valeted our car when we arrived and didn’t use it again until we left. The hotel is located directly between the new city centre and the historical city centre, so you can easily stroll the Danube, visit the Bratislava Castle, catch a show at the Slovak National Theatre, shop, eat, go out, you name it. The hotel also offers a spa, fitness center, business center, and a delicious restaurant for dining. To enjoy the city, grab a glass of wine and relax on the terrace for a bit of fresh air.
Whether you plan a trip to Bratislava or simply stop through on a road trip, I highly recommend The Roset Boutique Hotel. Check out my photos below to see more of my stay!
