PERENNIAL EATS: Red Wine Hot Chocolate

Most girls will agree, chocolate and wine make the best combo. If you’ve had a bad day, a glass of cabernet and chocolate candies make everything better. If you’re having a romantic dinner, red wine and chocolate souffle make the perfect finale. Girls night of gossip, you guessed it, red wine and chocolate. Since these two guilty pleasures were made for each other, why not blend them for the ultimate treat?

Texas is known for many things, but few are better than football and good wine. Since Fall is the season of tailgating and enjoying the outdoors, we wanted to share a delicious recipe that not only spices up your seasonal cocktails, but also keeps you warm on these chilly days! If you’re unfamiliar with red wine hot chocolate, the concept may sound a bit strange at first – but considering hot chocolate and Kahlua AND mulled wine are two of our favorite seasonal drinks, red wine hot chocolate definitely fits the mold. Not only is it super easy to make, it’s delicious, tasty, and the ultimate “feel good” drink.

We made our red wine hot chocolate with Llano Estacado’s Cabernet Sauvignon. Though Llano wines are delicious on their own, they also add such a flavorful impact to cocktails and dishes! As the largest and best-selling premium winery in Texas, Llano wines are a Lone Star State favorite! Llano Estacado wines are available for purchase online, statewide retailers, and select retailers nationwide – click here to learn more!
