How To Wear A Sundress In The Winter

We all have those favorite dresses – you know, the one “go-to” you can always rely on. This season, I’ve been loving this star-print midi dress. The simple pattern adds a bit of fun, but it’s neutral enough to where I won’t get sick of it! Plus the fit is super comfy – and also forgiving for the days I skip the gym and head out for TexMex with friends.

With the exception of my recent trip to Canada, I seem to spend most of my time traveling to warm destinations – and as much as I love relying on summer sundresses during my travels, it makes balancing my home wardrobe quite difficult! Whether you live in a climate that boomerangs like Dallas, you love a tropical getaway during the winter, or you simply like to find pieces to wear all year, it’s super easy to transition any dress from summer to winter!

Add Layers

The easiest way to switch up a summer dress is to layer. Not only will it keep you warm, but it will add a new look to your dress! An edgy leather jacket is always my favorite – but I also love wearing a simple long sleeve tee or turtleneck under a strappy dress for a seasonal update!

Switch Up The Accessories

Were colorful pom pom earrings and bold clutches your go-to for summer? Try mixing up your look with solid gold statement jewelry and a darker handbag. I also love adding black double western belt to my summer dresses to cinch the waist and shorten the length!

Opt For Booties

Instead of sliding on your favorite summer sandals or mules, keep your toes warm with a bold pair of booties. Since this dress was on the feminine side with bow straps, I paired it with platform lug boots for a new twist!
