“The Purist Villas and Spa luxury resort in Ubud embodies the ancient Hindu beliefs of balance, harmony, and purity of spirit; to this, we add a deep respect for the natural environment.”
Imagine waking up in gorgeous villa, taking a dive in your own private infinity pool, and enjoying a morning cup of coffee with views of lush tropical scenery. The Purist Villas makes this dream a reality.
When we first planned our trip to Bali, a visit to Ubud topped our list. Ubud is recognized as the cultural heart of Bali with serene jungles, beautiful rice terraces, and a holistic lifestyle unlike any other. Though Ubud has a buzzing center with art galleries, boutiques, and cafes, we chose to stay a short scenic walk away for a peaceful escape.
The Purist Villas is a hidden gem in Ubud, and you may miss the hotel entrance when you’re driving past the rural villages and traditional temples. Surrounded by lush jungle scenery with only the sounds of nature, The Purist Villas is a tranquil hideaway perfect for a romantic getaway.
The resort mixes Balinese antiques with contemporary design for unique and luxurious accommodations. Though most of the rooms have their own private pools, two infinity pools serve as the center of the resort – both with lush views of the Ubud jungle. Guests can choose to dine in the thatched roof open-air restaurant, Balisimo, or in the privacy of their villas. The restaurant serves some of the best authentic Balinese cuisine, and all of the ingredients are sourced each morning in the local markets of Ubud. A complimentary tea service is also offered each afternoon – which we highly recommend!
The resort is comprised of seventeen private villas and suites, most with their own terrace and private pool. For the first part of our trip, we stayed in a Garden Suite overlooking the rainforest and koi pond. The room had large sliding glass doors and nets surrounded our king bed, so we could sleep with a breeze and wake up to the sunrise. Since there’s nothing I love more than a bubble bath, the free-standing tub (and outdoor shower) with views of the jungle was the ultimate bliss. For the second part of our trip, we switched to a Jungle Pool Villa, which was heavenly! Our room had the same open feel as the garden suite, but the terrace and private infinity pool made us never want to leave!
Since yoga and meditation bring so many visitors to Ubud each year, The Purist Villas offers private lessons on the serene yoga deck. For added R&R, the resort also offers a full spa menu based on the Balinese Hindu philosophy and Ayurvedic Principles.
Aside from the ambiance, what stood out the most was the customer service. All of the staff took the time to know each guest and refer to us by name. Nothing makes you feel more at home than a personal greeting! The staff is exceptional at planning excursions and coordinating details, plus they are always available to chauffeur guests around the city. The personal butler service allows all guests to relax and put their minds at ease.
Though we spent most days exploring the city (highly recommend the Monkey Gardens and the Tegallalang rice terraces), we loved having a luxurious and peaceful place to call home. If you plan a trip to Ubud, I highly recommend The Purist Villas – our stay was incredible, and I know yours will be too! For more information about the resort, click here.
