Summer is the season of entertaining, and I always love finding an excuse to get together with friends for an outdoor soirée. Whether it’s a rooftop party or a casual backyard gathering, there’s nothing better than spending the day outside sipping a little vino and having fun.
When it comes to entertaining our mom always said, “Never show up empty handed,” and this is a rule we continue to follow. From hosting a get-together, to heading over to a friend’s house, I’ve found keeping a bottle of chilled rosé on hand always makes entertaining (or attending) parties a breeze.
The question is, which wine do you bring?
Generally during Girls Night Out, I hear my friends saying, “I’m more of white wine kind of girl,” or something along those lines. However, it’s rare to hear any complaints when a bottle of rosé is opened, especially during this time of year. There’s something so refreshing about a chilled glass of rosé that really sets the tone for the day, which is why it’s always my pick for summer entertaining!
When attending parties, it’s typical to bring a bottle of wine as a gift for the hostess, although usually it’s opened and enjoyed during the festivities. Choosing the right bottle of wine for a party can be a bit intimidating, but my rule of thumb is that a $15-20 bottle is appropriate for an outdoor party with friends. Also, once I find a bottle I love it quickly becomes one of my go-to wines for every event thereafter.
