Is there really anything better than a relaxing spa day? From the calming ambiance to the heavenly way my skin feels when I leave, a visit to the spa is my favorite way to unwind and treat myself to a little something special.
While I’d love to make my spa days a bit more frequent, I’ve found creating a spa-like experience in my own home can be just what I need after a long day. By adding a few extra touches to my bathroom, setting the right mood, and indulging in a few luxurious items, it’s so easy to transform the vibe to let me relax and unwind! Check out my tips below to create a spa-like experience at home:
Outfit details: Branché Silk robe
1 – Treat Yourself To A Luxurious Silk Robe
The first step of any spa day is to change out of your clothes and put on a cozy robe. I’ve always preferred silk robes because they’re less bulky than other materials, plus they just feel so elegant and feminine when you wear them! This Branché Silk robe is my favorite because of the short length, flutter sleeves, and the luxurious material. Plus they sell it at so many of my favorite spas (including the Ritz Carlton Dallas spa), so you know it’s a spa favorite! It comes in so many fun colors, but the white is my favorite. 2 – Set The Mood With Lighting And Candles
Dim the lights and light some candles to set the perfect ambiance. I love surrounding my bathtub with simple white candles for the perfect glow. If you have the option, changing out a simple light fixture with an elegant chandelier will change the overall feel of your bathroom. This chandelier belonged to my grandmother, but it really transformed the bathroom!
3 – Upgrade Your Towels
Towels can make all the difference in a bathroom. I love upgrading my towels every so often with high-quality, fresh, matching towels. Nothing feels better than wrapping up in a fluffy white towel after a long soak! If you’re really looking to enhance your experience, keep a towel warmer nearby. AMAZING.
4 – Fill Your Space With Fresh Flowers
My house never feels complete without a bouquet of fresh flowers. Keeping a vase of fresh flowers (my bathroom favorite: white roses) near your vanity or bathtub gives a nice element to the space.
5 – Set The Tone With A Relaxing Playlist
I love instrumental covers or classic jazz for a relaxing experience. Finding a playlist that allows you to tune out and chill out is essential.
6 – Keep Your Bathroom Tidy
As a female who loves beauty products, I know how products can be everywhere. Rather than keeping ALL of them on display, keep a couple of your favorites on a pretty tray and the rest on hand in a cabinet. Unless they add a little oomph to your decor, keeping products hidden will keep your bathroom tidy, organized, and refreshing.
7 – Use Aromatherapy Bath Products
To unwind, lavender bath salts are my favorite. Lavender oil is known to calm nerves, reduce anxiety, improve circulation, and help relieve aches and sore muscles. Lavender scent is one of my favorites, plus the salt leaves my skin so silky afterwards. Whether you prefer bath salts, oils, bubbles, you name it – aromatherapy bath products make every soak so inviting.
8 – Keep A Cool Glass Of Cucumber-Infused Water On Hand
After a hot soak or a sauna session, nothing tastes better than ice cold infused water. Bring the spa like experience home by pouring a glass of cold cucumber water to enjoy during a relaxing bath. If you’re REALLY trying to wind down after a long day, you can never go wrong with a glass of vino.
