As much as I love living in Dallas, I also love hopping on a plane and visiting the mountains or a beach as often as I can! This past month I flew to Crested Butte to celebrate a friend’s wedding with my boyfriend, and I decided to extend my stay for a week-long road trip with my bestie. We road-tripped from Crested Butte to Aspen to Vail and back to Denver. Each town has its own vibe, and it was a blast experiencing each one on our journey!
Unlike some of the other mountain towns I’ve visited in Colorado, Crested Butte has a low key, down to earth vibe, which was incredibly refreshing. We spent most of the weekend hiking outdoors, and Elevation  Hotel and Spa was absolutely perfect for our stay! What I loved most about the hotel was the fabulous location! Situated at the bottom of Mt. Crested Butte, Elevation offers ski-in/ski-out accommodations for guests – and since we visited in the summer, it was so easy to hop on the chairlift for some of the best hikes in the town!
If you’re traveling with friends – or simply prefer extra space – I definitely recommend checking out the hotel suites! Our suite offered a large living room, full kitchen, large patio, king bed, and two full baths. It was so spacious, and I can only imagine how relaxing it would be to cozy up by the fire after a ski day in the winter!
Since no vacay is complete without a bit of pampering, I recommend checking out the hotel’s luxurious spa! With nine treatment rooms, three relaxation rooms, and indoor pools and jacuzzis, this is the perfect place to relax and unwind after an active day. If you’re feeling active, be sure to check out some of the nearby hikes or rent bikes from the hotel to explore.
Whether you’re staying at the hotel or simply hiking Mt. Crested Butte, definitely stop by 9380 Prime Restaurant and Bar. The outdoor area is at the base of the chairlift, and the large fire pit is perfect for hanging with friends and enjoying happy hour! This was our favorite.
If you plan to visit the downtown area while you are in Crested Butte, the public transportation is SO easy! Free shuttles run (almost) all day, and you can hop on the bus right outside the hotel. If you’re looking for great pizza, definitely stop by Secret Stash – everyone recommends it, and it was so delish that we went TWICE.
Regardless of if you visit during summer or winter, I loved my stay at Elevation Hotel and Spa, and I definitely recommend it for your trip to Crested Butte. For more information about the hotel, click here to visit their website!
