The Sebastian Vail: A Magnificent Mountain Escape

“Iconic Vail With A Twist”

From the killer ski slopes to the charming village, it’s no surprise Vail is consistently recognized as one of the best ski towns in the nation. While you’ll stumble into a winter wonderland most of the year, I recently visited during the summer for the first time – and I fell in love with Vail even more!

What I love most about Vail is the Bavarian flair throughout the town. The chalet-inspired buildings surrounded by fresh flowers is such a change of scenery from Texas, making this picturesque town the perfect getaway any time of year!

During my visit last month, I stayed at The Sebastian Vail. While it was my first time experiencing this hotel, it instantly became a favorite. The warm color tones and rich wood beams inside the wide atrium entrance gives a cozy yet luxurious ambiance from the moment you step inside. The hotel has a modern meets mountain vibe, and the endless art throughout the property provides such a unique flair.

Location is always key when choosing a hotel, and The Sebastian is prime location for the area. Situated in Vail Village, you can park your car when you arrive and simply walk everywhere during your entire stay. If you’re traveling during the winter months and plan to ski, you can leave your skis at The Sebastian slope-side base camp to avoid carrying your equipment every morning! (Mega bonus)

Since any vacation is the perfect excuse to wine and dine, we were so excited to attend the Vintner’s Dinner at Leonora, the hotel’s tapas restaurant and wine bar. We loved trying all of the delicious dishes and wine pairings, and we had a blast learning all about the hotel from a family with a residence at The Sebastian (Fun fact: they were also from Dallas! Loved them). Following dinner, we hopped over to the Frost Bar for delicious after-dinner cocktails.

Since the theme of our trip to Vail was R&R, we loved spending the day by the hotel’s outdoor pool and jacuzzis. For a bit of pampering, the full-service Bloom Spa is perfect for unwinding and relaxing!

While people travel from all over to visit The Sebastian, it was fun discovering how many Texans frequent the hotel!
