Imagine waking up in a peaceful Tuscan villa overlooking vine-covered archways and miles of vineyards, as the soothing sounds of trickling fountains serve as the soundtrack to your morning sip of espresso.
Now, imagine having that experience without leaving the United States. Discover Sonoma’s luxury hideaway, The Kenwood Inn and Spa.
One of my favorite parts of traveling is discovering new hotels. Petite boutique hotels are always my favorite, as they typically embody a specific charm or local experience that allows you to resonate with the location. Rather than cookie-cutter rooms, boutique hotels add an element of surprise when you slip the key into your door.
Charley and I planned a week long trip to Napa a couple of weeks ago, but he decided to extend our stay and surprise me with a stay somewhere special. He never told me where we were staying or where we were going, but as soon as we showed up to the Kenwood Inn and Spa, I completely fell in love with the hotel.
The vine-covered villa looks straight out of Tuscany. Surrounded by only vineyards, it’s a serene escape from the hustle and bustle. As you walk through the perfectly landscaped courtyards and cobblestone walkways, you’ll completely forget you’re in California. Whether you soak in one of the 24-hour heated pools with a glass of wine in hand or enjoy a morning coffee with a classic read, you’ll never want to leave this beautiful hotel!
What I love most about the Kenwood Inn and Spa is how the staff goes the extra mile to make their guests feel relaxed. The hotel offers 29 guest rooms, from classic rooms to expansive suites. When we checked into our suite, we were welcomed with a local bottle of Pinot Noir beside the cozy fire, while classic favorites by Etta James and Marvin Gaye filled the room with romantic vibes. Our room was designed with custom Italian furnishing, complete with an ultra-lush king featherbed. One of my favorite parts of our stay was keeping our windows open all night and enjoying the fresh air of Sonoma Valley.
The hotel provides a complimentary breakfast for all the guests to enjoy in the main courtyard and an all-day coffee bar. You’re greeted with a glass of bubbly during check-in, and complimentary wine during the hotel’s daily happy hour. For additional enjoyment, the hotel offers a library of books and games for guests to enjoy during your stay.
While the spa was being renovated during our stay, I can only imagine how serene it would be to start the day with a couples massage followed by wine-tasting at a local vineyard. Safe to say, I will be planning a trip to return in the near future!
