How To Celebrate Changing Your Last Name After Marriage

So it’s official, our wedding countdown is in the double digits now – and all the excitement and (happy) jitters are starting to hit! When Charley and I got engaged in April, March 2020 felt SO far away – but once we hit the 3 month mark, time is flying!

No longer being Ms. Ellen Flowers certainly will be bittersweet, but saying “I do” to the man of my dreams will make it all worth it! I know not all women choose to change their last name when they get married, but changing my last name is something I’m incredibly excited about – and I want to celebrate it!

Aside from the emotional aspect of changing my last name, the legal process of a name change is actually quite daunting. It’s not fast and easy, plus after a long year of wedding planning chaos – starting another big project may not be on the top of my post-honeymoon to-do list! That being said, I am so excited to embrace my new last name – and what better way to celebrate than with a new monogram!

As soon as I saw this diamond initial necklace, I completely fell in love! It’s so dainty and feminine, and the diamond-encrusted D is a special way to celebrate this upcoming milestone of changing my last name! I love how this is a necklace I can wear everyday, and it’s a sentimental reminder of this exciting period of time!

I love how this Monogram Initial Necklace celebrates my future last name, but it’s also such a fun gift for friends or family! I went with the 14K yellow gold since it matches my engagement ring, but this diamond necklace also comes in rose gold and white gold – all three are simply gorgeous!
