Tis the season for holiday entertaining! The best part about the holidays is spending so much time with loved ones, and there’s nothing better than enjoying this time at home!
When it comes to home decor, my personal preference is modern, minimal, and subdued with hues of gray, black and white… but all that goes out the window when Christmas rolls around and we fill our home with endless holiday decorations and cheerful accessories! What can I say, this girl loves Christmas :)
In addition to our two trees and holiday accents, I love the way a holiday tablescape brings a dining room to life over Christmas! I think it’s so fun to switch up my holiday tablescapes every year, and this year I went with a colorful and cheerful theme to wrap up 2020 on a lively note!
Today I’m sharing all the details on my holiday tablescape + 6 tips for creating a festive tablescape in your own home! Keep reading to learn more:
SHOP MY OUTFIT:
1 – Switch Out Your Usual Dinnerware With A Holiday-Themed Collection
When it comes to dinnerware collections, I believe you can never have too many! My mom started building china collections for all of us in high school, and now that I have my own home, I appreciate it even more! This Christmas collection was my first collection, and I love pulling it out over the holidays. It’s more playful and casual than traditional holiday dinnerware, and I love how it brings such a joyful look to my table. Growing up, we always used the Herend holiday collection every Christmas, and it’s still an all-time favorite! If you’re looking for a versatile everyday china pattern, my sisters and I registered for the Herend Fish Scale collection when we got married, and we love it!

2 – Mix And Match Holiday Accessories
I LOVE collecting a variety of Christmas trees to pull out over the holidays, so I added a mix of styles and heights to my table this year. If you are a collector of herend figurines like my sister, Janie, displaying holiday Herend figurines is another fun way to add a festive twist to your dinner table! 3 – Add A Set Of Embroidered Holiday Napkins
Holiday napkins are such an easy way to add a pop to your table – and I love these monogrammed ones my mom gave me with these engraved silver napkin rings. I have loved my ever-growing collection of embroidered napkins to switch out color schemes and themes, and Etsy is one of my favorite places to find custom embroidered napkins!

4 – Candles, Candles, And More Candles
After planning my wedding, I realized I am obsessed with candles (will be sharing my reception soon!). I always think the more the merrier when it comes to candles. The soft lighting is so romantic and nothing feels more festive than twinkling lights! I used a mix of glass candle holders in a variety of sizes + a handful of votives. These tapered candlesticks are my new favorite (heads up: the wax melts everywhere, but the clean up after is easy!)

5 – Switch Up Your Everyday Stemware With Something More Unique
We always tend to set our table with our Schott Zwiesel Pure wine and water glass set, but for the holidays I wanted to dress up our table a bit and use our Baccarat crystal from our wedding – and I love how elegant and pretty it looks! Just like dinnerware collections, I feel you can never have too many glasses – and I keep boxes of our holiday collections in storage to save room in our kitchen.

6 – Add Chargers And Placemats To Dress Up Your China
Whether you’re using your everyday dinner collection or want to spruce up your china, playing around with chargers is an easy way to make your dinner plates feel more unique! These Vietri glass chargers are my favorite, but adding a pop of color with a vibrant charger like this is another great way to switch the look of your everyday dinnerware!
