The sweetest day celebrating these two precious girls!
So much has changed since Blair and Janie welcomed baby girls into the family, and it has been the most exciting new chapter! Recently, Frances and Caroline were baptised at Highland Park Methodist Church and it was such a special day that we’ll never forget!
While the girls were initially scheduled to get baptised on September 20th (our dad’s birthday!), the ceremony was postponed to November for covid-restrictions – and it was equally as special! Janie’s husband’s family flew in from California to celebrate, our family was in town from Florida, and we had a beautiful ceremony at the church followed by a gorgeous brunch at The Mansion on Turtle Creek – one of our favorite spots for special occasions!
Today we wanted to share some tips on what to wear to a baptism:
Choose A Color Based On Gender
Similar to dressing for baby showers, we love coordinating our outfits to the baby’s gender. Pink dresses for girls and blue for boys is a simple yet thoughtful touch for dressing for a special day!
While we didn’t plan to color coordinate, great minds think alike ;)

Choose Something Conservative And Classic
Sure you can go all out on your outfit, but remember you’ll treasure photos from this day for years. You don’t want to look back on special photos and think “what was I wearing!?” Choose something simple and conservative when you’re dressing for an occasion with photos you’ll love for years to come. When it comes to jewelry, stick with the classics like pearls or dainty gold pieces to accent your dress.
Also keep in mind you want the spotlight on the baptism, so steer away from anything to bold in print or color!

Choose A French Hand-Sewn Gown
We are very classic when it comes to dressing the girls, and we are so grateful our mom saved all of our clothes growing up! Frances and Caroline were baptised in the same French hand-sewn gowns we wore when we were baptised! Each gown had beautiful hand-embroidery and featured a beautiful 24K gold pin on the back.
French hand-sewn gowns are timeless, and best of all – the boys can wear these too!

Bring A Sentimental Gift To Remember The Day
For the baptism, I wanted to surprise my sisters with something special to celebrate the day. These personalized 24K gold bracelets from O Necklace are so delicate and dainty – perfect for everyday wear – and I engraved their daughters names on each one.
They absolutely loved them and haven’t taken them off since, and it’s a wonderful gift idea to give to a new mom! I also treated myself to this 24K personalized necklace to celebrate the day too!

Coordinate Your Mask
When 2020 is the year of the mask, it’s one detail you want to consider when planning a baptism! The last thing you want in a sweet photo during the baptism is a bold-printed mask, so don’t let this detail slip your mind if you’re planning a baptism in the near future!
