With Spring around the corner and my calendar filling up with endless trips, I’m ready to trade out the bulky winter wear with lots of fun, vibrant, warm-weather staples! Over the last year, my wardrobe has definitely evolved from mostly black to cheery, bright hues – what can I say, my wardrobe always matches my mood!
One trend I am loving this season is all things mini! Unlike the mini skirt trend in the late 2000s that was nightclub-ready with the Herve Leger-inspired bandage styles, the new wave of minis is feminine, structured, and tasteful. With heavier fabrics like satin or tweed, feminine elements like bows or ruffles, and standout hardwear like gold buttons or embellishments, these mini skirts are quite the upgrade and the perfect way to add versatility to your wardrobe.
For a recent girls night out, I paired this satin neon mini skirt with an off-the shoulder mesh top and platform heels. Since I consider pink a neutral, my favorite Saint Laurent clutch added a pop of color to the look – and an extra bit of happy! I love the high-waist detail of the skirt, combined with an oversized bow, allowing it to draw attention away from the mini-length hem. Best of all, it was less than $50!
