Mixing and matching designer and affordable pieces has always been my style, so investing in staples is never a bad idea. Styles come and go, and let’s be real – sometimes our size fluctuates, but a great handbag or classic belt will never go out of style!If you’ve ever been to Newport, RI, you probably know this preppy beach town thrives on timeless style. You won’t see the typical Dallas stilettos for an afternoon downtown, but rather a casual yet coastal chic style that mixes comfort with sophistication.
For lunch on the dock at Forty 1 North, I channeled a nautical theme with a classic shirtdress, navy and red belt, and metallic flats. This shirt dress was such a steal ($22 – I plan on ordering the white version too), but dressing it up with my favorite Gucci belt added a little oomph to the simple shape. I believe with the right accessories, any item can look chic – regardless of the price!
