TREND ALERT: Gaucho Jeans

Gauchos had a moment when I was in high school, and I have to admit, I LOVED these slouchy pants. While ours were more of a stretch material, these slinky pants were the absolute best – especially since we could break our strict boarding school dress code with wide-legged lounge pants – how did that fly?

Well fast-forward to present day, and guess what, gauchos are back! Unlike the slouchy styles of 2005, today’s gaucho trend is more of a chic and tailored fit – which is much more flattering! Since I’ve always preferred a wide-leg or flared jean, it’s no surprise gaucho jeans are an instant favorite. They’re super comfy and super chic.

Since I’m 5’4, I like pairing gaucho jeans with heels to keep the pants from overwhelming my frame. Try wearing these jeans with a shirt tucked in or with a crop top to minimize your waist and prevent your outfit from looking too baggy. While some absolutely hate the gaucho trend, I love it and I highly recommend trying it!

Skinny jeans aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, but they’re definitely being overshadowed by cropped, kick flare, raw hem, and gaucho jeans this season. Incorporating one unique pair of denim into your wardrobe will create so many fun new looks!
