One item that I never leave at home when packing for a trip is a soft gray tee. It’s by far the most versatile item in my closet and always step one for a day of layering. For a cozy mountain day look, I layered an oversized gray blazer (also worn here) over my tee with some over-the-knee boots, jeans, and a classic gray beanie. One of the easiest ways to complete a look is to toss on a blazer. It’s effortless, but gives just the touch needed to make an outfit appear put-together. We are loving these colorful blazers we found at Milk & Honey. The light and comfortable fabric is the perfect weight for a cool summer day. Blair paired her blazer with a t-shirt dress, Lilly scarf, and a pair of wedges for a feminine and preppy look. Ellen wore hers with her new favorite acid-wash cutoffs, gray tee, and booties for an edgier look. I’ve never been much of a pattern person, but I just can’t get enough of prints on prints this season! I think it all started with this little number (available here), but I am just instantly drawn to matching separates right now. When it comes to closet staples, blazers are definitely at the top of my list. From the office to a night out, a blazer can add just the touch your outfit needs for any occasion. It’s always refreshing when a style is carried over from one season to the next, which in this case involves leather-sleeve jackets. What I love about this trend is how the leather can add a hint of “cool” to even the preppiest pea coat.
