This week on Milk and Honey, we decided to style two (faux) leather tops with two seersucker skirts to show how these two pieces could be worn numerous times with different looks. Since Blair and Janie are the preppy ones of the three, they chose to wear the seersucker skirts. Blair paired hers with a bright ruffle top and Kate Spade accessories, while Janie paired hers with the leather top and a fun bauble necklace. Ellen wore her leather top with coral shorts, a turquoise necklace, and converse sneakers for a casual weekend look. Click here to shop our looks!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve felt like the denim scene has been rather boring these past few years. Thanks to the new Spring fashion trends, all of this is about to change. We’ve already introduced you to the overalls comeback, but here are a few new denim trends to keep an eye out for this season. With so much denim in fashion’s future, we can expect to see a lot of Canadian tuxedos – no complaints here!
— Boyfriend Jeans —
Whoever introduced the world to boyfriend jeans deserves a serious thank you from all women. It’s about time we get to look stylish while remaining insanely comfortable. Whether you choose to sport these with a pair of feminine heels and bold jewelry or with some trendy sneakers and a chic jacket, boyfriend jeans will become your new best friend.
— Ripped Jeans —
Pull out those old Abercrombie & Fitch jeans this season as ripped denim is once again trendy. Whether you choose a ripped skinny, boyfriend, or flared pair, you can’t go wrong with this distressed look.
— Jean Cut Offs —
The ultimate summer staple is back. Toss a pair of cut offs on with a loose Vince tee, long layered necklaces, and a pair of white converse for a chic and easy summer uniform.
— Flared Jeans —
For someone who is constantly sporting sky-high heels to seem a few inches taller, this is my ultimate favorite jean trend. An ultra-flared pair of jeans is flattering on almost any body shape if worn right. Make sure you get a pair long enough to hide your favorite wedges underneath to make your legs appear long and lean!
— Jean Capris —
If you had a flashback to middle school when you heard this, think again. This season’s capri pant trend involves chic and slim cropped jeans that hit right above the ankle. For those of us that are not model-tall, pair a darker hue with a feminine heel for the most flattering fit.
— Denim Jackets —
The denim jacket is back this season as the perfect way to add a relaxed touch to any outfit. Paired with a flouncy summer dress or a pair of black leather skinnys, the denim jacket is an ultimate staple for Spring.
Which denim trend is your favorite for Spring?

When GM reached out to us to spend a week test driving cars for them, we were more than thrilled with the opportunity. We were each given a coupe, SUV, or electric car to use as our own and provide our personal feedback on the car. Since I normally drive a sedan, I chose to drive the Buick Encore for the week. Though aesthetically a bright blue car isn’t my top color choice, I really enjoyed all the features the car had to offer. The compact body shape was similar to Janie’s ML350, which made for an easy transition to a SUV for a sedan driver. The interior of the car featured two-toned leather on all of the seats, which was a new look I really enjoyed! In order to get a full feel of the Encore, we decided to take it on a fun weekend road trip.

My favorite part of the car was definitely the XM radio system. Rather than having to Shazaam my favorite songs on my phone, I could simply click one button and the system would store the song and download it on my iPhone. How amazing is that? Another feature that really stood out was the option to add a plug in the backseat – impromptu need for a curling iron? Buick has you covered.

Though this SUV is quite compact, it was definitely spacious… and for a family of girls that ALWAYS overpacks, a large trunk is definitely important! The Encore did not disappoint on that feature.

The only flaw I found on this car was that the front two seats shared ONE armrest. Two armrests would’ve been much better for a long journey! But like I said, it’s compact..

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the Buick Encore. Click here to see more of the features available on this car.
