Asymmetrical Vision

Asymmetrical Vision

Goodbye bandage skirts. This season’s mini is all about the asymmetrical hemlines. The faux wrap skirt (and oftentimes, skort) is popping up all over the place, and buyers can’t seem to get enough of it! Since black and white is clearly my favorite color combo, I was stoked when I found this grid-print mini last week. I paired it with a black and white leather and mesh top with zip sleeves for a bold look. For other asymmetrical options, try this, this, this, or this!

PS for GM: Chevy Volt

I never thought we would be doing car reviews on the Perennial Style (see our other posts here and here – thanks GM!), but I had so much fun driving the Chevy Volt! As most people know, this is the car you can plug in and drive on electricity. When it arrived at my house, it had about 25 miles of electricity so I drove it around Dallas during the week. Once the electricity was used up, it automatically switched to gas, which was a relief since I’ve always wondered what would happen to an electric car if I couldn’t find a plug! Since my house does not have a garage, I didn’t plug it in again and just used the gas. I was pleasantly surprised when we traveled to Austin and only had to fill up the tank once on the whole journey – $25 roundtrip to Austin? Talk about great gas mileage! As a current Tahoe driver, it was awesome to switch to such an efficient car.

The Volt also had all the fun bells and whistles of new cars- GPS, XM Radio, heated seats, etc. The backseat of the car had bucket seats instead of a bench, which was interesting and extra comfortable. Overall, I was very impressed with the Chevy Volt and thought it was a great value. To learn more about this car, click here.

This season I am all about crop tops. I just can’t seem to get enough of these for Spring, which is why I am loving this Peter Pilotto for Target crop top I picked up last week. I thought the black and white pattern was perfectly retro when paired with these round sunnies, and I added this orange cross-body bag for a fun pop of color. A good tip to remember when wearing crop tops is to pair it with a high-waist bottom to ensure too much skin isn’t showing. I am also a huge fan of vintage shopping, so when I spotted this vintage leather pencil skirt I knew it was a must for my wardrobe and the perfect skirt for this top. What Spring trends are you loving this year?

One of my favorite wardrobe staples would have to be my Barbour coat. What I love most about this coat is the classic shape that will forever be in style. Normally I pair it with jeans and boots for a sporty Fall look, but I paired it with a casual dress and my favorite ankle booties for a sunny afternoon in Deep Ellum this past weekend. PS for GM: Buick LaCrosse

PS for GM: Buick LaCrosse

Out of the three cars my sisters and I tested for GM, I have to admit the Buick LaCrosse was my favorite. Though I had never considered the LaCrosse to be a luxury sedan, I was more than impressed by all of the features in the car. The interior of the car reminded me a lot of Blair’s old CTS with the spacious backseat and overly cushioned leather seats. The car was fully equipped with all of the best amenities. My favorite feature (which definitely took me by surprise) was the way the seats vibrated while I turned or if I was too close to other cars. Talk about keeping you alert! Another feature I loved was the heated steering wheel, which was a huge plus with the polar vortex that hit Dallas recently.

The LaCrosse was equipped with Bose speakers, XM radio, and an iPhone plugin (as well as charger). The driver information display behind the steering wheel made driving easy with all of my controls from cruise control to my favorite playlists right at my fingertips, plus the speed display on my windshield made staying under the speed limit a cinch. Overall, I was very impressed with the Buick LaCrosse. To learn more about about this car, click here.
