It’s hard to deny that backpacks are anything but practical. I mean, who doesn’t love taking a break from a heavy purse every now and then and tossing all their necessities behind them. Whether it reminds me of my childhood adventures or my first day of school, mini backpacks just bring back happy memories. Though this trend may not be for everyone, I’m beyond thrilled to pull out my Gucci mini backpack I picked up in Cannes years ago. How do you feel about this 90s throwback?

One of my favorite looks for Fall is monochromatic matching. When I found this skirt I knew I would be able to get so much wear out of it this season. The length is perfect for work, but the fit and flare shape makes the perfect transition from 9-5 to Happy Hour. My favorite part about this look is the mix of new with vintage pieces. As I’ve said before I am big on investment pieces. This Gucci bit handbag below was purchased by my grandmother in New York in her 20s, but the quality of the leather remains unchanged to this day. Since the bag was such a classic shape, you can buy this nearly identical one today!

Au revoir Nicolas Ghesquiére! If you haven’t heard the news already, Alexander Wang has officially been confirmed as the new creative director at Balenciaga by PPR – the luxury French conglomerate which purchased Balenciaga in 2001. PPR also includes large names such as: Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Stella McCartney. Though Wang is known for his contemporary street-style fashion, he plans on embracing and enriching the designs that Balenciaga has represented for almost 100 years now. At the ripe age of 28, Alexander Wang has become the first designer of Asian descent to lead a major French fashion house. No need to worry my friends, Alexander Wang will continue to oversee his brand that we have all come to know and love.
Take a peek at some of Balenciaga and Wang’s pieces below. How do you think the two will mix?

This is my go-to dress for all seasons, since it can be dressed up or dressed down depending on what accessories are used. I kept it simple with just a fun pair of earrings and a studded black bracelet. What is your go-to dress?
