Trend Alert: Mohair

One item that’s making a huge comeback this season is the mohair sweater. Though you may remember this from your days in elementary school (Limited Too, anyone?), this fuzzy sweater is the ultimate staple you need in your wardrobe. Not only is it delightfully cozy, it speaks for itself and lessens the need for bold accessories. When the term “shift dress” comes to mind I immediately imagine a conservative and classic structured dress. Though this is often the case, I have developed a new obsession with Missguided’s shift dress section (well.. all of their dresses for that matter), which contain a wide array of styles from classic to modern, structured to slouchy. This checked shift I snagged for my recent trip is one of my newest favorites. The shape is extremely comfortable and perfect for those relaxed afternoons, and the shirt sleeve tie waist totally embraces my favorite 90s trend. Black, White, & Bold

When it comes to shoes, my philosophy is the higher the heel the better the shoe. Luckily with the return of platforms this season, my feet can finally feel a sense of comfort, without ditching the height! When lug sole boots come to mind, I definitely have a flashback to my elementary school days. That being said, we’ve all seen the recent return of the 90s, so who really is surprised by this trend?

To keep my look for Fashion Week bold and daring, I paired a monochrome scalloped shift with a pair of sky-high lug sole boots for a daytime look in the city. Seeing Spots

As I have said time and again, matching separates are my style weakness of the moment (seen here and here), so of course a new matching Missguided crop and wrap mini would be my go-to for celebrating my 25th birthday this past weekend with all of my amazing friends! EVENT RECAP: Estee Lauder x Neiman Marcus

Elizabeth Hurley & Leonard Lauder

This past Wednesday, I had an incredible experience at the Estee Lauder event at Neiman Marcus NorthPark to unveil the new Estee Lauder shop within the store. After a successful 64 year partnership, Leonard Lauder graced Dallas with his presence at this unveiling to share a little history of the company and to showcase the Estee Lauder compact museum, which has only been displayed once prior. Leonard was accompanied by company spokeswoman Elizabeth Hurley, who was even sweeter and more beautiful in person than one could imagine! Since Neiman Marcus is Leonard’s favorite department stores by far, he debuted his newest lipstick exclusive to the store – Neiman Marcus Red. Leaving the event with a hand signed gift bag from Mr. Lauder filled with the exclusive lipstick and an engraved compact with my initials was the perfect keepsake from such a special event. To share a bit of Texas with this power duo, Leonard was given a cowboy hat and Elizabeth received a bouquet of yellow roses.
