When the term “shift dress” comes to mind I immediately imagine a conservative and classic structured dress. Though this is often the case, I have developed a new obsession with Missguided’s shift dress section (well.. all of their dresses for that matter), which contain a wide array of styles from classic to modern, structured to slouchy. This checked shift I snagged for my recent trip is one of my newest favorites. The shape is extremely comfortable and perfect for those relaxed afternoons, and the shirt sleeve tie waist totally embraces my favorite 90s trend. I paired this dress with my platform boots and mirrored aviators for a casual daytime look. See how I styled my checked dress and shop some of my favorite shifts below!

Sammi Leder, Rebecca Taylor, Ellen Flowers, Kaitlynn McConville
Rebecca Taylor has always been one of my favorite designers, so when we were invited to attend her runway show at NYFW, I was more than excited! Rebecca Taylor is one designer that my sisters and I have always mutually agreed on, partially due to her mix of printed fabrics, feminine detailing, and flowy boho shapes.
The show was held at Center548 (same as Kate Spade, though hardly recognizable!) and was an incredible parade of fabulous look after look from the 2015 Spring collection. As upbeat music blared through the room, the energy level was at an all-time high as the models debuted her newest pieces. With pastels, embellishments, fresh shapes, and more, it’s safe to say Rebecca Taylor nailed it once again!
Once the show ended, we had an incredible opportunity to head backstage and meet Rebecca Taylor, as well as get a personal look at all of the clothes. Backstage at NYFW with one of my favorite designers was definitely a dream come true and was an experience I will never forget! Take a look at some of our pictures from the show and visit the Rebecca Taylor website to shop her collections:

After an amazing 10 days in New York, I am finally back home in Dallas ready to update all of you on the newest trends, my favorite NYFW outfit looks, and all of our wonderful experiences and events from the trip! One of my highlights of the journey was definitely the rewardStyle party on the rooftop of The Empire Hotel. Catching up with all of my favorite bloggers, as well as meeting many new favorites, was an absolute blast. The entire rewardStyle team threw an over-the-top fete once again, complete with goodies from Kendra Scott, Piperlime, and more!
One of my favorite new trends (which is isn’t necessarily “new”) is the collared white blouse. Channeling a more structured look with a tailored shape and stiff collar, the white blouse is a must-have this season. Paired alone or layered under a dress or sweater, this is your newest go-to for any occasion.
Since crop tops are my number one favorite trend this year, I chose to wear this edgy Nasty Gal collared blouse for my Saturday afternoon event look. Since the sides of this shirt are connected solely by a black elastic band, I paired the crop with a high-waist leather pencil to avoid showing too much skin. The high-neck collar balances out the bold sides, giving an edgy yet sophisticated twist on the white blouse trend. See how I styled this trend for the rewardStyle event and click on the links below to shop my look:

When it comes to shoes, my philosophy is the higher the heel the better the shoe. Luckily with the return of platforms this season, my feet can finally feel a sense of comfort, without ditching the height! When lug sole boots come to mind, I definitely have a flashback to my elementary school days. That being said, we’ve all seen the recent return of the 90s, so who really is surprised by this trend?
To keep my look for Fashion Week bold and daring, I paired a
monochrome scalloped shift with a pair of
sky-high lug sole boots for a daytime look in the city. I have to say that stomping around in these boots was an amazing change from my stilettos! Lug sole boots come in all styles and colors, so for a more subdued look try
these,
these, or
these! See how I styled my look and be sure to shop my boot picks below!

Greetings from New York! The past week has been such an amazing whirlwind up here at New York Fashion Week, and I have had such an incredible time with all of these shows, events, and brand meetings, along with exploring the city with all of my favorite bloggers!
Viewing the Lela Rose runway show yesterday at Lincoln Center was definitely one of my highlights thus far! Since I’ve had the opportunity to work with Lela in the past (see here), I was so excited to get a sneak peek of all of her new designs. From her gorgeous florals to her finely tailored pieces, the show was such a feminine and sophisticated display!
For the event, I wore my leather shift dress with a bold statement necklace and my favorite Louboutins for an early Fall look. One trend I have been seeing a lot (not to mention wearing quite a lot!) is leather: pants, tops, skirts, dresses, you name it. It’s safe to say those splurge pieces you snagged last year are good for another season!
Another trend that I keep spotting around New York is braids! Whether you choose a side fishtail braid like mine (courtesy of Tresemme) or a cool braided up-do, this hair trend is definitely one to try out this season for a bold and fun new look!
Check out my look from yesterday’s show. Be sure to stay tuned for more NYFW updates and trends, and follow us on Instagram to join us on our Fashion Week journey!
