We were so excited when we were chosen as one of Tootsies Dallas Top Bloggers for 2014 and have had so much fun over the past couple months collaborating with the Dallas team and the other five bloggers chosen! As three girls who love fashion more than anything, getting to play dress up in a store full of beautiful designer clothes for a photo shoot and fashion show is like a dream come true!
Last week Tootsies hosted the Top Blogger Finale Fashion Show at the store and we had an absolute blast. We had so much fun getting curls and blowouts from Shawna at the Pin Salon again, and loved our bold looks from the amazing Blusington crew! We each chose a look from the store to wear during the event, and since Elizabeth and James was the spotlight designer of the event, we each chose a piece from their newest collection!

Each blogger styled five looks for the models to wear on the runway. We chose “Elegant Contrast” as our theme to represent our differing yet similar styles through the ultimate color contrast, black and white. We also wanted to highlight our love for Dallas events and parties by choosing styles that can be worn to cocktail and evening events. With Ellen’s love for crop tops, cut outs, and leather, and Blair and Janie’s love for prints, silks, and classic shapes, our collection blended together all of our styles to come together as one clean and trendy look.
As our models strutted the runway in our favorite looks, we were interviewed by the hilarious and adorable Courtney Kerr: star of Bravo TV’s “Most Eligible Dallas” and “Courtney Loves Dallas”, as well as host of Dallas “Broadcast TV”. Judges for the event included Shannon Yoachum, Samantha Stewart, Heather Anderson, Rhonda Sargent Chambers, and Jen Smith.

Though it feels like the entire event flew by for us, we had such an amazing experience and loved meeting so many amazing people! Congrats to Dallas Tidbits, as well as all of the other wonderful girls! Big thanks to Tootsies for such an amazing experience, and also James Edwards for capturing the whole night. We can’t wait to see which lucky bloggers are chosen next year! xo

We loved meeting the adorable co-founder of Blushington from California

This past week, we hosted a bridal shower for one of my closest friends here in Texas. The shower was hosted at Sissy’s in Dallas, and we had an amazing time catching up on the wedding plans, enjoying delicious southern food, and sipping on Tipsy Palmers.
We know you can read all about wedding shower etiquette on Emily Post, so we wanted to focus on the other fun parts of a shower- the flowers, gifts, and (of course) fashion!
I love to find out the bride’s favorite color or type of flower and choose arrangements to match her style. In the photos below, you can see that we went with a Southern Classic theme to represent our southern belle bride! It’s fun to choose a color theme different from the wedding just for variety.
As for gifts, monogram it! China and silver are such classic wedding gifts, but I think it’s fun to give a more personal gift at a shower, since the bride will be opening it in front of the guests. We decided to do a group gift from the bridesmaids, so we chose a large silver monogram tray and a monogram bracelet with her wedding dates. She also received beautiful linens, personalized soaps, cookbooks, and Le Creuset baking dishes.

We loved it when Sara’s fiancé surprised her with a bouquet of flowers at the shower

So now, what to wear! Only the bride should be in all white, so be sure to steer clear of solid white, ivory, or any other very light toned dress. Most of our friends love Lilly Pulitzer, Trina Turk, DVF, Alice & Olivia, and M Missoni sundresses for these occasions- obviously paired with the perfect wedge. Below are some of our favorite picks for what to wear to your next bridal shower:

If you haven’t heard of Blaine Bowen, this is one Texas jewelry line you need to get to know. Started in January of 2013, Blaine Muhl set out to create a collection that combined her love for fashion, art, and philanthropy, and let’s just say she nailed it! We had so much fun at the Blaine Bowen Launch Party at The Ritz Carlton last week getting to know the designer and seeing an up-close look at her newest collections. Since a portion of the proceeds benefitted Paws in the City, we loved shopping the pieces from evil eye bangles to beaded bracelets and Texas shaped rings! The Coachella-themed fete boasted Vogue sketches, flash tattoos (a favorite of ours!), flower crowns, a braiding station, and more! Take a peek at some of our pictures from the amazing event and click here to shop the collection!

This past Thursday, my sisters and I had the pleasure of attending the Brunello Cucinelli grand opening party in his new Highland Park Village location. Brunello Cucinelli started his company in Italy in 1978, and continues to serve as Creative Director and Chairman for his line which specializes in luxury goods for men and women. We had so much fun at the event listening to (the charming) Brunello speak about the history of the company, his inspiration, and how his passions have created this beautiful line of apparel. We fell in love with his newest collections and were inspired to add more neutral tones into our wardrobe for Spring. Take a peek at some of the pictures from the event and be sure check out Brunello Cucinelli’s newest collections below:
