After my stay at the Houstonian Hotel earlier this week, I flew to Chicago for a quick trip of meetings and exploring! Since it was my first time to Chicago, I absolutely loved seeing the city, visiting sites (the bean was a must), and of course having my first Chicago deep dish – yum! Coming from Texas, the freezing weather was definitely a big change, so this French Connection coat was perfect for keeping me warm! For the second day of South Walton Fashion Week, I opted for this hunter green Splendid dress and a lightweight Alice and Oliva vest that I snagged a few years ago (try this similar one!). Dressing for Fall when it is still hot outside can be a challenge, however, these lightweight pieces were the perfect way to stay cool on this warm October night. The event was held on the lawn at Sandestin Grand Boulevard, so wedges were a must to stroll comfortable around the event.

The past week has been a whirlwind of traveling from a wedding in Nashville, to our cabin in the Smokies, a visit to the Grove Park Inn, a weekend in Harkers Island, and everything in between! My first trip to Harkers Island was absolutely amazing, and I definitely fell in love with this relaxed beach town. A cozy sweater and cutoffs are my Fall beach day essentials.
