Spring showers are never a surprise over Easter weekend at the beach. Though one would think rainy days aren’t ideal for a coastal weekend, I find it to be refreshing and peaceful when I am home! This navy blue trench (try this, this, this, or this) was the perfect coat to toss on for an afternoon of shopping in Watercolor. I love how the gold buttons and the cinched waist give a feminine look to a classic raincoat. See how I wore mine:

There’s nothing better than a long weekend home with the family, and since our home is in Sandestin, FL, we packed up our bags and headed to the coast for Easter. We had so much fun all weekend enjoying our favorite spots like lunch at Barefoot’s Beachside Bar & Grill at the Sandestin Hilton, mimosas at Seaside’s Modica Market (they can thank Blair’s wedding for their record sales weekend), live music in Baytowne Wharf, dinner and dancing at the Ocean Club, and much more. Topping off the vacay was a little shopping spree at the adorable Barefoot Princess in Watercolor– You should definitely stop by next time you are on 30a for our favorite brands like Lilly Pulitzer, Milly, Trina Turk, Ella Moss, and more!! Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Weekend!

Fashion meets art in this edgy collection of handbags I keep eyeing. Carolien Vlieger and Hein van Dam gave a whole new meaning to embossed leather with their collection of handbags featuring three-dimensional shapes that embody a certain edge that will definitely cause onlookers to give a double take. The launch of their Guardian Angel bag caught the attention of many art critics and was actually featured in the MoMA in 2005. With handbags embossed with guns, knives, and handcuffs, to name a few, this collection is definitely geared to the fashionista who enjoys a bold statement. Vlieger & Vandam has been spotted on celebrities such as Rihanna, Fergie, Rita Ora, Rumor Willis, and many others. The Lucky FABB Conference ended with a lovely networking brunch with all of our new fashion blogger friends at the SLS Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday morning. One trend we’ve been noticing all over the place, and even more so in LA this past week, is over the shoulder coats. Though the two words “coat” and “Spring” don’t mesh very well in the Texas heat, Spring coats are a big trend for the season. What makes this look different this Spring is the way they are being worn off the shoulders. Though it may seem impractical to wear a coat around your shoulders, as compared to actually keeping your arms within the sleeves, over the shoulder coats give a feminine and sophisticated look to any outfit.
