When I was a little girl, my dad always asked me, “what’s your favorite color?” and I always answered the same, “I have two: pink and hot pink”. As I’ve gotten older, nothing has changed. There’s just something magical about the color pink that instantly brightens my mood and brings a feminine touch to any scenario.
As a single girl in my 20s, I figured there’s no better time to have a home with pops of magenta throughout. When decorating with magenta you have to be careful to add just enough to keep it chic without transforming it into a tween’s dream room. This bar cart would be perfect for adding just a touch of pink to your dining or living room!
I’m in the works of redecorating my bedroom, and I wanted to share some of my inspiration. What do you think?

This past week, my friends and I traveled down to Cabo San Lucas to celebrate our senior spring break. Though I am thrilled to begin my engineering career next year, I sure am going to miss all of these wonderful breaks I get to enjoy at SMU!
Since we stayed at a large all-inclusive resort last year in Cabo for our break, a group of girls and I decided to take a different route this year and stayed at a beautiful boutique hotel, Cabo Villas, in the heart of the city. Spending 7 days relaxing on the beach sipping pina coladas was definitely my idea of a perfect vacation!
A large portion of our class was down there as well, so we enjoyed hopping around between different resorts and meeting up at Nikki Beach, The Office, and Mango Deck in the evenings. I also really enjoyed our stroll through the harbor to see all the different yachts lined up in the mornings. Overall, we had an amazing time and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a beach vacation.

One trend you should definitely keep an eye out for this Spring would be printed trousers. Trousers are such an easy alternative to jeans if you are looking to remain casual, yet chic. If you are looking for the perfect pair, Lela Rose has you covered. She has been designing the perfect printed trouser for years, and I am a huge fan of mine – tip for shopping: be sure to buy a size down, as they tend to stretch! To learn more about Lela Rose, see our post here. I paired my trousers with this Lilly Pulitzer peplum sweater and a pearl necklace my mother-in-law gave me.

When I think of a navy dress and a denim jacket, the word classic comes to mind. Despite all the fads that come and go, these are two items that always remain in style. What I love most about this look is this After Pant’s Paris jacket I snagged at Gregory’s a couple years ago. The jacket maintains the same all-American look of denim, but the padded shoulders gives it an updated twist – see this similar one I found for the look for less. I paired it with this fun and flirty seamed skirt dress for drinks in the Arts District with a girlfriend.

Now that Spring has sprung, I find myself gravitating towards the brighter pieces in my closet. I paired this yellow moto jacket I picked up at a sample sale this year (try this similar one) with a solid tee and my skinny jeans for an afternoon in the park. One of the things I have learned in my life is that every woman needs a good pair of flats in her closet. I am a huge fan of these Prada flats, as they are comfortable, classic, and made of the softest leather.
