Black x White

Black x White

This season I am all about crop tops. I just can’t seem to get enough of these for Spring, which is why I am loving this Peter Pilotto for Target crop top I picked up last week. I thought the black and white pattern was perfectly retro when paired with these round sunnies, and I added this orange cross-body bag for a fun pop of color. A good tip to remember when wearing crop tops is to pair it with a high-waist bottom to ensure too much skin isn’t showing. I am also a huge fan of vintage shopping, so when I spotted this vintage leather pencil skirt I knew it was a must for my wardrobe and the perfect skirt for this top. What Spring trends are you loving this year?

Peter Pilotto for TargetSpring is in the air! After four months of waiting, Peter Pilotto finally reveals the lookbook for his newest collaboration with Target. Pilotto doesn’t stray from his signature patterns and wild colors in his Target collection with pieces priced under $80 in women’s apparel, swimwear, and accessories – quite the discount from his runway collection which can cost up to $2,000. Celebrities like Selena Gomez, Kristen Stewart, Amanda Seyfried, and Leighton Meester are all fans of Pilotto’s collections. I’m loving the mix of structure and color in the flirty-yet-professional pieces that would add a little pop to your everyday work wear.  The collaboration launches February 9th at Target stores, Target.com, and Net-a-Porter.com as well. And remember, be sure to stop by early before it’s all gone!

Cheers to the Bride and Groom! The time has come to start celebrating engagement season! There’s nothing more exciting than a bride-to-be and the journey of planning their big day.  Since I was recently married, I discovered how meaningful engagement gifts were once my hubby popped the question. We’ve put together a gift guide of some of our favorite engagement gift ideas for the future Mr. and Mrs. Take a look:

Green Cosmetics

Green Cosmetics

This week at the office we are celebrating Green Week. My coworker and I gave a presentation today on how to make green beauty products from ingredients you generally have in your pantry at home. I had never created my own beauty products before, but I learned there were so many benefits from going green!

Not only are these products extremely safe to use and inexpensive, but they also work with every skin type without causing any side effects! We decided to make a Banana Face Mask today to help with oily or acne-prone skin, as well as a Citrus Salt Body Scrub to help exfoliate and moisturize your skin! I recommend trying some of these recipes at home – the salt scrub is a new favorite of mine!

photo 4photo 5 photo 3photo 1photo 2Apart from making beauty products, we also included a drawing to win this great gift we picked up from Lush. If you’ve never been to Lush, you are definitely in for a treat. Before they opened their US store in 2003, we had to stock up on products every year in their Banff, Canada store on our annual family ski trip. To say we are big fans is a bit of an understatement.  Not only are all of their ingredients and materials “green”, but they believe in a naked packaging philosophy where all of the products are sold without wrapping…  Talk about a delicious smelling store! Their bath bombs blow every competitor’s out of the water. Take my word, you have to try them.

In case making your own beauty products from home isn’t your thing, be sure to try some of these other green cosmetic brands:
