This week on Milk and Honey, we decided to style two (faux) leather tops with two seersucker skirts to show how these two pieces could be worn numerous times with different looks. Since Blair and Janie are the preppy ones of the three, they chose to wear the seersucker skirts. Blair paired hers with a bright ruffle top and Kate Spade accessories, while Janie paired hers with the leather top and a fun bauble necklace. Ellen wore her leather top with coral shorts, a turquoise necklace, and converse sneakers for a casual weekend look. Click here to shop our looks!

For three sisters (or best friends) who are constantly borrowing clothes from each other’s closets, it only made sense for us to finally do a post on one piece three ways. We’ve collaborated with Milk & Honey to bring you a series of posts to show you how one item can be styled to fit any style or occasion. Since this is a normal occurrence in our household, we were thrilled to get involved. Now various people have various ideas of what a “neutral” color is, so let’s start off by saying any shade of pink is a neutral in our book! This magenta v-neck blouse is hands down the perfect staple for our closet. Janie decided to style the blouse with a pair of printed silk shorts for a casual look, while Ellen paired it with a black and white striped skort perfect for a night out. For a more festive occasion, Blair paired her blouse with a sequin skirt and statement necklace to add a little glitz and glam. See how each of us styled this must-have blouse below and check out Milk & Honey to steal all of our looks:

I find silk shorts to be one of the most unexpectedly feminine items in fashion right now. There’s something about the way they feel when you have them on that instantly make you feel flirty and girly. These Rebecca Taylor floral silk shorts are a new favorite of mine, and I owe that to the greatest shopper I know – thanks, mom! I decided to pair them with these amazing gladiator heels I picked up last week and this classic Lela Rose blouse for the Blaine Bowen Jewelry party at The Ritz. Try these or these for the look for less!

Thanks Alex for letting us play with sweet Zoe!!

Move over statement necklaces, there’s a new accessory trend that’s bolder than ever! Body chains are one of the hottest new accessories this season, and let’s just say I am becoming obsessed. Though I originally purchased my body chain to wear in the summer paired with a bikini, layering it over my outfits for a night out is just as fun! Though there are a variety of styles available, this dainty gold chain is the perfect accessory for any look. Similar to ear cuffs, temp tats, and hand chains, body chains are an edgy trend I dare you to try.

Being as though we are millennials in today’s society, there’s no denying our love for the Olsen twins. From their days as the crime-fighting duo to their current state of fashion-forward icons, Mary-Kate and Ashley will always be two of the most iconic stars in our eyes. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know the Olsen twins have launched two very successful lines of fashion: The Row and Elizabeth and James. Elizabeth and James is their more contemporary line with prices that fit my budget and happily fill my closet. The Row, on the other hand, is their couture collection carried in almost 200 stores throughout the world. The Row embodies the styles we usually associate with the twins – over-sized pieces, vintage-inspired, neutral colors, silks, etc.

Mary-Kate and Ashley have recently announced their very first retail location for The Row, and what better location than Melrose! Keeping with their under-the-radar facade, The Row is a modern and simplistic location behind a corridor of offices, which once housed the production studio of Neil Diamond. The twins aimed for the store to feel like a home by simply mixing clothing and accessories into the decor of the store, complete with a living room, dining room, and outdoor pool.
By carrying The Row’s entire collection, Mary-Kate and Ashley hope to give the store a showroom effect for shoppers to have access to all of their pieces. When asked if this retail venture could spark a similar opening for that of Elizabeth and James, the twins admitted it could be a possibility in the future depending upon the success of The Row. Be sure to stop by their new location next time you are on Melrose, and keep your fingers crossed for more locations to come!
