As we mentioned on Thursday, we flew out to LA this past weekend for the Lucky FABB Conference at the SLS Beverly Hills Hotel . We had such a fun weekend listening to speakers, meeting new bloggers, exploring the city, and enjoying all the fabulous pampering Lucky FABB provided. We flew in Thursday night and were welcomed with two glamorous events. First, we headed over to Blow Me Away Blow Dry Bar for the Lucky + Wendy’s event. Wendy’s was one of the sponsors for the event to showcase the launch of their newest salad collection, so they gave us all Asian inspired salads while we got our blow outs, which were actually delicious! We had such a fun time getting all dolled up with the girls from the salon! Following this, we headed over to Duplex on Third for the Lucky + Sexy Hair cocktail party, where we mingled with bloggers, sipped cocktails, and learned more about the Sexy Hair products. Now that Spring has sprung, I find myself gravitating towards the brighter pieces in my closet. I paired this yellow moto jacket I picked up at a sample sale this year (try this similar one) with a solid tee and my skinny jeans for an afternoon in the park. One of the things I have learned in my life is that every woman needs a good pair of flats in her closet. I am a huge fan of these Prada flats, as they are comfortable, classic, and made of the softest leather.

Since I spend nearly every single day of the week dressed up in heels, there’s nothing that feels better than taking the day off to wear something casual and comfy. This season I am all about crop tops. I just can’t seem to get enough of these for Spring, which is why I am loving this Peter Pilotto for Target crop top I picked up last week. I thought the black and white pattern was perfectly retro when paired with these round sunnies, and I added this orange cross-body bag for a fun pop of color. A good tip to remember when wearing crop tops is to pair it with a high-waist bottom to ensure too much skin isn’t showing. I am also a huge fan of vintage shopping, so when I spotted this vintage leather pencil skirt I knew it was a must for my wardrobe and the perfect skirt for this top. No woman’s wardrobe is complete without a timeless black cocktail dress. I learned this lesson early on from my grandmother , Virginia Dawn Justice Gray. My grandmother was born and raised in West Virginia, so she was no stranger to the Greenbrier Resort. Dawn has always held a special place in my heart as I credit my creative side to her, as well as my middle name, Gray. Dawn always had impeccable taste, so I’m not surprised that her style would carry on over the years. I found my grandmother’s prom dress recently, and I was shocked to find that not only was it the perfect size, but also a classic style that I could wear today. I learned her senior prom was held at the Greenbrier Resort many years ago, so I felt truly honored to be able to wear her dress over the holidays this year in the same room she wore it over 60 years ago. The mix of lace and velvet on this dress, as well as the tea length hem, embody some of fashion’s newest trends. Like they say, you can never go wrong with a little black dress!
