One of my biggest weaknesses when it comes to shopping is the unnecessarily large amount of winter coats I decide I “need” to own. Though Dallas is rarely cold enough to actually wear all of these coats, Janie and I found it necessary to rent out a storage unit simply for our winter coats and furs… yes, this is a problem. Anyways, in my opinion, a trendy winter coat is the easiest way to look chic and put together, all while staying warm!
One of my newest favorites is this leather and fur trimmed wool coat, which is the perfect mix of classic and edgy. Since these upcoming months are slammed with traveling, this is the perfect coat to pack for trips to toss on over jeans or a fun dress for a walk around the city. I paired it with my skinnies and a pair of over-the-knee boots for a simple evening look. See how I styled my coat and click here to snag it for yourself! (Best of all, it is currently on SALE!)

Shearling is one textile I love adding to my closet during the winter months, and this Ella Moss vest is quite the update from the Ugg phenomenon back in the day. With the ever-changing weather in Dallas, a vest is the perfect way to dress for chilly days! As much as I love the classic fur vest, this shearling look is a fresh and easy way to switch up your routine. I paired mine with a simple white tee and flared jeans for a casual look, but I love layering it over a sweater dress and over-the-knee heeled boots for a girls night out look. Check out my fur vest update and shop my favorite shearling picks below:

This weekend we finally received the snow I’ve been wishing for – well more so an ice storm, but close enough in my book. There’s something so refreshing about the cold air against your cheeks and bundling up in warm, cozy clothes for a few days off of work. The best part about icy weather is the excuse to put the stilettos away for a few days and live in comfy boots! I picked up this Gap wool coat about a week ago, and it is an instant favorite. It kept me warm all day, and the moto zippers added a little edge to the classic plaid pattern. Love it.

Though the snow has yet to hit Dallas (fingers crossed!), temperatures have finally started to drop… which means it’s time to bring out the coats! This Elie Tahari shawl coat is my grab-and-go wardrobe essential for chilly days. Dressed up or dressed down, the opportunities to wear it are endless. I tossed it on with some jeans and my Versace scarf for a casual day in the park with the family. What’s your winter wardrobe essential?

It’s always refreshing when a style is carried over from one season to the next, which in this case involves leather-sleeve jackets. What I love about this trend is how the leather can add a hint of “cool” to even the preppiest pea coat. From trenches to bombers to blazers and more, the leather-sleeves are making a statement this season. Can’t afford the price tag of true leather? No worries, designers like Vince Camuto have made their own faux leather styles for the Fall. Check out some of my favorites below:
