HOTEL SPOTLIGHT: The Houstonian Resort, Club & Spa

Houstonian Hotel Review
If you’ve been following us on Instagram, you will know that the past few months have been a whirlwind of traveling! From city to city, hotel to hotel, traveling is one of my absolute favorite pastimes. When it comes to hotels I have two preferred choices: luxury hotels or trendy boutique hotels. This doesn’t mean I am some sort of “hotel snob”, but when I’m faced with booking a hotel in a huge city with hundreds of search results, these are my go-to.
The Houstonian Hotel Blog Review
Recently I had a little getaway not too far from Dallas (hello, Houston!) at one of my favorite Texas resorts, The Houstonian Resort, Club & Spa. If you think visiting one large city from another large city may not feel like the ultimate relaxing vacay… you clearly have not checked into this luxury hotel. Tucked away from the bustling city on eighteen acres, The Houstonian greets you with sophistication and elegance from the moment you arrive.

During my stay, I had the pleasure of staying on the concierge level, which was quite the guilty pleasure in itself with breakfast in the morning, hors d’ouerves and cocktails in the evening, and late-night desserts before bed – yum. My room was beyond spacious with a work and living space, and one of the comfiest beds I’ve slept in in a while. Also, the L’Occitane bath products provided in the rooms smell absolutely delightful!Houstonian Hotel robes
One of the most well-known aspects of The Houstonian Hotel would be their top-rated fitness center, which was voted top 10 in the nation. With every class, court, and fitness machine available, this 125,000 square foot facility is no comparison to any other hotel. Though a gym is generally the last place on my travel to-do list (we can’t all be jocks…), the aerial pilates, yoga, and zumba classes really caught my eye, and I know my sisters would have been thrilled to spend their afternoon on the tennis courts. Safe to say for my next visit, my Lulus will be in my suitcase.
Trellis Spa Houston Review
If you are more like me and sweating it out isn’t really your thing, I highly recommend visiting Trellis – the on-site spa. Here you can spoil yourself with a decadent massage, facial, nail appointment, or simply spend the afternoon in the luxurious float pool to wind down and step away from reality. Best of all, the spa boutique is stocked with plenty of treats to top off your treatment with a little retail therapy – it was hard to walk out without snagging one of my favorite GiGi clutches!  Spa Tip: Book your spa treatment when making your hotel reservation, as appointments are hard to find!

With multiple heated swimming pools, a wide array of delicious restaurants, perfectly manicured grounds, and a VIP staff, The Houstonian is definitely my pick for a relaxing weekend getaway. Though it’s tucked away in the middle of the city, this resort is the ultimate excuse for a weekend of pampering in this wooded oasis. Whether you are the fitness guru, spa addict, nature lover, foodie, or a mix of all four, The Houstonian has a niche for everyone. Check out the hotel website for more information, and I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did! xo

    Love that place.

When I was getting my MBA, UT hosted the program in Houston at the Houstonian. So I got to stay there as part of my tuition every other weekend for two years!
