Cocktail Alternative

When most people think of “cocktail attire”, a sophisticated dress comes to mind. While I love a beautiful sheath for an evening out, occasionally I want to switch up my look with a bit of wardrobe mix and match for a festive cocktail alternative. Stocking my closet with skirts and simple tops is the easiest way to double my wardrobe, so why not do the same when dressing for a cocktail party?

This pink and black skirt is such a fun starter piece for any occasion! I paired it with a black off-the-shoulder crop top for an evening look in Alys Beach over the holidays. To transition the look for a daytime luncheon occassion, replace the crop top with a white button down (or cashmere sweater) and pointed-toe heels. The simple stripe is so feminine and preppy, plus it can be worn year round with the right pieces.
