Home Reveal: Frances' Big Girl Room • The Perennial Style

Transitioning our daughter’s nursery to her “Big Girl” Room was such a fun and exciting project. When it comes to decorating a little girl’s room, there are endless possibilities to unleash your creativity and create a space that is both functional and enchanting. We wanted Frances’ room to exude simply two words: “joy and happiness,” and we definitely achieved this! We had a helping hand from our talented friend, Kelsey, at The Loveliest Home to help make sure the room was full of custom designs and colors, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!

We started the decorating process by picking this adorable starburst polka dot wallpaper, and we love how it was easy to mix and match with vibrant prints. I knew we needed a Queen sized bed for the room, since Frances is a huge cuddler – plus we wanted plenty of space for reading and naps together. We wanted the room to have a mix of pink and green accents, and I love the way the gingham scalloped drapes coordinate with our custom Euro shams. Choosing a printed headboard was such a playful addition to the room, and I love how it breaks up the pink and green tones throughout the room. For a fun pop of print, we added this fabulous custom bolster pillow to her bed.

Our last step of the decorating process was building a custom closet, which has been so helpful for keeping all of her outfits organized by size. Keep scrolling to the end to see photos of the space.

One of my favorite items in the room is her D. Porthault bunny. When my husband and I first started dating, he gave me a D. Porthault pillow in the same heart print and I have loved it to shreds. It’s a little detail with so much sentiment!
