Lela rose shift dress

A bold print on a classic shape is one of my favorite ways to add a little pop into my look. I love investing in designer pieces that will not go out of style, but can still be dressed up or dressed down depending on the occasion. Last night I paired one of my favorite Lela Rose dresses with a bold statement necklace, a classic black stiletto, and a bright orange clutch to pull out the warm tones of the fabric for the Red Cross YPA kickoff party at Hotel ZaZa. Check out my look from the event and shop some of my favorite printed shifts below!

The Canadian Tuxedo

The Canadian Tuxedo

J Crew Denim Shirt

With denim being one of the top trends of 2014, the Canadian Tuxedo is of course my favorite look for a casual weekend afternoon. Though denim on denim was once a huge fashion faux pas, this duo is now one of the easiest ways to look chic and relaxed with minimal effort. I like to pair varying shades of denim to allow more depth to the look, so I wore my light chambray J Crew blouse with my ultra-soft dark Paige flares and tossed on a favorite Gucci belt to break up the hues. See how I styled my denim on denim look below and be sure to try out this double denim combo for yourself!

Dallas Skyline Fashion

Jumpsuits have become one of my favorite styles to wear recently, and whether it’s the retro vibe or simply the ease of getting dressed, I keep catching myself stocking up on these onesies. Since I am on the shorter side (and like to fake off my height with 5 inch platforms), flared jumpsuits are definitely my preferred fit. A tapered leg can give such a sophisticated look, but for any jumpsuit rookie, I totally recommend a flared leg. I love this midnight blue one I picked up recently (similar: this or this), as the loose shape and fit is insanely comfortable and perfect for those “I have no idea what to wear” days. The next jumpsuit I plan on snagging is either this one or this one by DVF – hands down, the most flattering ones I’ve seen yet! See how I styled mine below and check out my list of favorites beneath!

Nine to Five

Nine to Five

Office Style

Now that I have officially entered the corporate world, I am learning to appreciate the importance of transitional pieces in my closet. Since we attend social events in Dallas almost every single night, I don’t always have time after my commute to stop by my apartment for a wardrobe change. Classic dresses are such a staple in my closet, and by mixing different accessories with the same dress; it’s easy to make one piece appropriate for various occasions!

This LOFT scallop-trimmed shift (similar) is a favorite of mine. I paired it with a J. Crew cardigan, oversized studs, and my Kate Spade chunky pumps for a day at the office, but later changed into my platform Prada pumps, a bold statement necklace, and ditched the cardigan for the Baubles and Blouses event that evening. EVENT RECAP: Estee Lauder x Neiman Marcus

EVENT RECAP: Estee Lauder x Neiman Marcus

Elizabeth Hurley, Leonard Lauder Neiman Marcus

Elizabeth Hurley & Leonard Lauder

This past Wednesday, I had an incredible experience at the Estee Lauder event at Neiman Marcus NorthPark to unveil the new Estee Lauder shop within the store. After a successful 64 year partnership, Leonard Lauder graced Dallas with his presence at this unveiling to share a little history of the company and to showcase the Estee Lauder compact museum, which has only been displayed once prior. Leonard was accompanied by company spokeswoman Elizabeth Hurley, who was even sweeter and more beautiful in person than one could imagine! Since Neiman Marcus is Leonard’s favorite department stores by far, he debuted his newest lipstick exclusive to the store – Neiman Marcus Red. Leaving the event with a hand signed gift bag from Mr. Lauder filled with the exclusive lipstick and an engraved compact with my initials was the perfect keepsake from such a special event. To share a bit of Texas with this power duo, Leonard was given a cowboy hat and Elizabeth received a bouquet of yellow roses. Take a look at our pictures from the event and be sure to stop by the newest shop this weekend!
