Happy Friday! This weekend I am home with friends for a wedding in Seaside. Seaside is one of my favorite areas on 30A, so if you haven’t visited, I definitely recommend it! The area is filled with colorful houses and restaurants, and perfectly exudes the vibe of a preppy beach town. As a lover of bright colors and fun patterns, it’s only natural that Lilly Pulitzer would be one of my favorite fashion designers. I decided to pair my Lilly Elsa top with white shorts and sandals for an afternoon of shopping and roaming. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Are you a lover of J. Crew but sometimes hate the prices that seem to keep rising with each season? Well, you are not alone, and J. Crew is taking your needs into account! Behold, J. Crew Mercantile: the offspring of our favorite line which is in the works to bring a similar style to shoppers, but with a price point more along the lines of the J. Crew Factory Stores. What differentiates Mercantile from our favorite factory stores is the fact that these new stores will be situated in some of our favorite malls around the nation, rather than having to drive out of the city to scout out the outlet malls. Millard Drexler, CEO of J. Crew, once introduced Old Navy as a more affordable line of Gap, so we can only hope Mercantile will launch with that same success! With already a few leases signed and more locations in the works, we cannot wait to see what Mercantile will bring for all of our savvy shoppers!

One of the perks of working in a corporate office everyday means I have an excuse to stock up on endless amounts of blouses! I recently snagged this softened clover-print blouse, and it is the perfect transition from 9-5 to happy hour. I paired this ultra-soft top with my new J Crew pleated shorts for the Accessory Concierge Anniversary Party at Haven Boutique last night. What’s your favorite weeknight look?

As most people are well-aware, HIV has been an epidemic affecting Africa for quite some time now. With over 260,000 babies born with HIV last year alone, the transmission rate from mother to child during childbirth is largely at fault. Physicians have discovered that with only one pill a day taken by the mother during pregnancy, the child has a 98% chance of being born HIV-free.
John Megrue, of Apax Partners, reached out to Anna Wintour and Diane von Furstenburg to bring Born Free to life. Born Free is a new non-profit that plans to bring funding to African countries to provide women with the medicine they need to help prevent the spread of HIV during pregnancy. What makes this charity different than others is that there is already a solution to the epidemic, therefore this issue can be drastically controlled through raising funds. Born Free is a collaboration of 22 fashion designers to create a collection of mother-daughter apparel produced at a cost-efficient rate to raise money for the cause. The MAC Aids fund plans to match up to $500,000 in proceeds. Designers such as Prada, Versace, Marni, Stella McCartney, Victoria Beckham, among others have contributed.
The Born Free collection is now available on Shopbop. Click here to see the full collection and take a look of some of the pieces below. Go ahead, start shopping! (Did I mention everything is under $245?)
