With only one day left until my final exam and one week until my SMU graduation (YAY!), my mind has already switched to summer mode. My summer style is always colorful and casual, which is why J. Spring showers are never a surprise over Easter weekend at the beach. Though one would think rainy days aren’t ideal for a coastal weekend, I find it to be refreshing and peaceful when I am home! This navy blue trench (try this, this, this, or this) was the perfect coat to toss on for an afternoon of shopping in Watercolor. I love how the gold buttons and the cinched waist give a feminine look to a classic raincoat. See how I wore mine:

One trend you should definitely keep an eye out for this Spring would be printed trousers. Trousers are such an easy alternative to jeans if you are looking to remain casual, yet chic. If you are looking for the perfect pair, Lela Rose has you covered. She has been designing the perfect printed trouser for years, and I am a huge fan of mine – tip for shopping: be sure to buy a size down, as they tend to stretch! To learn more about Lela Rose, see our post here. I paired my trousers with this Lilly Pulitzer peplum sweater and a pearl necklace my mother-in-law gave me.

Now that Spring has sprung, I find myself gravitating towards the brighter pieces in my closet. I paired this yellow moto jacket I picked up at a sample sale this year (try this similar one) with a solid tee and my skinny jeans for an afternoon in the park. One of the things I have learned in my life is that every woman needs a good pair of flats in her closet. I am a huge fan of these Prada flats, as they are comfortable, classic, and made of the softest leather.

I just got back from the most incredible trip to Klosters, Switzerland to celebrate my one year wedding anniversary with my husband. It’s a very cozy, friendly, and quaint town just a two hour train ride from Zurich. I was so excitied to see the town where my husband has made so many memories, plus it’s where Kate Middleton and Prince William went on their first vacation!
We were able to fly into the Zurich airport and easily train to the town where we walked a block to our hotel. I’m not sure about you, but I love a trip where there is no driving involved and we could walk everywhere!
We stayed at the Chesa Grischuna, which is a very old family-owned boutique hotel. My husband’s family has been staying there for over 50 years, and the service is nothing short of fantastic! They also have a wonderful bar and restaurant, so after a long day of skiing you can definitely relax at the hotel. There were several boutiques so I was able to pick up anything I had forgotten to pack, plus it was fun to learn new Swiss brands.
We were very fortunate that we had wonderful sunny skies for our skiing! The one thing I had to get used to was that the color system is blue (beginner), red (intermediate), black (advanced) which was very different for someone used to skiing in the states and Canada.
By our last day, we decided to take a train ride to St. Mortiz! We fell in love with St. Moritz, and I think everyone should experience it at some point. It has all the major shopping like Chanel, Moncler, Brioni (for the hubs), Loro Piana, Louis Vuitton, etc. We had a coffee or lunch at the Carlton , Badrutt’s Palace , and Hotel Kulm and decided the Carlton is by far our favorite! It’s definitely a ski town for the rich and famous! Time for me to get a fur hat, fur coat, and fur boots!
It was the best anniversary I could have ever asked for, and I’m so happy to share our great memories.
