iPhone Cases that Care

iPhone Cases that Care

As a girl who got her first cell phone at the age of 13, it’s hard to imagine life without it. Apart from relying on it to manage our social lives, an iPhone has so many more benefits we often disregard. Consider the amount of iPhone cases purchased over the past year to add a decorative flair (as well as protection) to our mobile devices. What if each of these iPhone cases sold could help provide mobile technology to those in need?cases that care kidogo kidogo

Kim and Kristen Waeber created Kidogo Kidogo for this exact reason and to bring awareness to the importance of mobile technology through their Cases that Care program. Kidogo Kidogo recognized that only 36% of women in Tanzania have cell phones, which means only a small portion of these women have the security, safety, and important updates we can receive through mobile technology. With their Cases that Care program, Kidogo Kidogo helps provide these women with mobile phones through the sales of their adorable phone covers. For every two phone cases sold, a woman in Tanzania receives a mobile phone, a SIM card, and mobile credits to operate the phone.

I am loving my new iPhone case from Kidogo Kidogo. The quality and weight of the cover guarantees protection of my iPhone, as well as a festive summer look with the fun flamingo design! It’s amazing how one simple purchase of $30 could provide so much security for a woman in need. Be sure to visit their website to shop all of these adorable cases and to learn more about this amazing program.

TREND ALERT: Overalls

TREND ALERT: Overalls

Growing up as a kid in the 90s, overalls were a solid staple in my wardrobe: jean, velvet, corduroy – you name it. The fad came and went, and we vowed NEVER to wear overalls again… that is, until right now. Overalls are making a strong comeback this Spring with a reinvented shape to add a feminine touch to the slouchy, grunge onesies of our past. With tapered legs and rolled cuffs, this is the fashion trend I dare you try in 2014. Check out some of my favorite new styles:

Statement necklaces are a must-have to complete any outfit this season. I am in love with this black and gold statement necklace (c/o Milk and Honey Boutique), and I thought it would add just the edge my chambray top needed for a night of live music in Dallas.

TREND ALERT: Scrunchies

TREND ALERT: Scrunchies

“No self respecting New York City woman would be caught dead running around Manhattan in a scrunchie.” – Carrie Bradshaw

Well I hate to break it to Carrie, but scrunchies are back! Designers like Marc Jacobs and Missoni have brought the scrunchie back to life in their newest collections. Though the idea of these fluffy, fabric hairbands may initially make you cringe, celebs have already jumped on the scrunchie train. Take a peek at some of the chic new ways to rock this 90’s throwback:

Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat

It’s that time of year again – Halloween! I don’t know about you, but my Halloween week this year is filled with work parties and charity functions. I plan on being festive without rocking a head-to-toe lavish costume like years prior, so I’ve searched around for the perfect “spooky” accessories to add to my wardrobe. The best part about my finds is that I could wear all of these items on a normal day with some of the newest trends this season – cat ears, anyone? My newest obsession are these temporary tattoos. Models and celebrities are always showing off their newest ink, but with these new temporary tats I can get the same look without the commitment! Check out my picks below:
