It’s always refreshing when a style is carried over from one season to the next, which in this case involves leather-sleeve jackets. What I love about this trend is how the leather can add a hint of “cool” to even the preppiest pea coat. Happy 1st birthday to The Perennial Style! I cannot believe it has already been one full year since we started this fashion blogging journey. Thanks to all of our followers and supporters throughout this past year. It has been such a blast! When it comes to birthdays, what better way to celebrate than by donning a wardrobe of sparkles and shine! The British are coming! In less than one month, my favorite online retailer Topshop will be opening a boutique within the Dallas Nordstrom stores. Considering I’m rather old school and prefer to visit the brick-and-mortar locations over online shopping, I am beyond ecstatic of this news! Topshop mirrors the audience of Zara and H&M with trendy, high fashion pieces at affordable prices. Though the British retailer has flagship stores in NYC, Chicago, Vegas, and LA, this new concept within Nordstrom stores has already proved to be a huge success for the company. Mark your calendars for October 3rd – This is a launch you do NOT want to miss!

Goodbye Emerald! It’s official, Pantone has officially announced its 2014 Color of the Year: Dazzling Blue. Being a fun twist on the classic cobalt, Dazzling Blue is a hot hue that will look fab on almost every skin tone. Whether it be a bold structured tote, fierce stacked ankle booties, or a flouncy flared mini, Dazzling Blue will be making a loud statement in the upcoming year. With only one more day until Fashion Week, we will see if designers channeled the Pantone predictions in their newest runway collections!
